  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange bread slices in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down to soak.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a bowl.
  7. Spread the butter mixture over the soaked bread.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and set.
