A classic snickerdoodle cookie recipe that’s soft, chewy, and coated in cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  6. Combine 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat in cinnamon sugar.
  8. Place on baking sheets 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
  10. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring.
