Caprese skewers are a simple and elegant appetizer perfect for any party. They combine fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and basil for a burst of flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden skewers (about 20)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
  2. Drain the mozzarella balls if they are packed in water.
  3. Thread one tomato, one basil leaf, and one mozzarella ball onto each skewer.
  4. Arrange the skewers on a serving plate.
  5. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use fresh basil for the best flavor.
  • If you can’t find balsamic glaze, reduce balsamic vinegar by simmering until thickened.
  • These skewers can be assembled up to 2 hours ahead.
