- 400g pasta
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp chilli oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions, sugar, and salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized (about 20 minutes).
- Add minced garlic and butter to the pan. Cook for 1 minute.
- Toss cooked pasta with caramelized onions and chilli oil.
- Garnish with parsley and Parmesan if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Use a non-stick pan for easier caramelization.
