Crispy Baked Tofu with Peanut Sauce

A simple and delicious vegetarian dish featuring crispy baked tofu served with a rich peanut sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2-3 tbsp water (to thin the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Toss tofu cubes with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Spread tofu on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy.
  4. In a bowl, whisk peanut butter, soy sauce, maple syrup, lime juice, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Add water gradually until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
  6. Serve crispy tofu with peanut sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

  • Press tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes for more or less heat.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
