  • 4 large yams, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange yam slices in a greased baking dish.
  3. Mix brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla in a bowl.
  4. Pour mixture over yams and toss gently.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes.
  7. Let cool before refrigerating if making ahead.
