- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Mash black beans in a bowl with a fork.
- Add breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, cumin, chili powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Serve on buns with toppings of your choice.
Notes
- For a vegan version, replace the egg with 1 tbsp flaxseed mixed with 3 tbsp water.
